Alex grew up in the small town of Ojai, California. Ojai is a small secluded town just inland of Santa Barbara and North of Los Angeles. Being just inland of the Pacific Ocean this is where he learned and loved to surf. Having been a member of a musical family he was always surrounded by music and music lovers. When he visited his best friend who had moved from Ojai to Maui in high school, he instantly fell in love with the island and its lifestyle. After graduating high school he made the move to Maui where he went to the University of Hawaii Maui, focusing on Business. He was introduced to the restaurant/ hospitality industry while working at a destination restaurant called Hali’imaile General Store. From Maui he moved to San Francisco where he worked in various fine dining locations and enjoyed the culture and diversity of the city.

He was always intrigued by the decor and design of the places he worked. He noticed that if a restaurant was designed well with great Feng Shui, it really brought people in and elevated the whole dining experience. He made his way south to San Diego and enjoyed the city and surf culture. Maui always held a place in his heart and eventually moved back to the place he feels and calls home.
